Description: Smile through the pain is what I was taught from a young age. Don’t let anyone know you are sad. So I smile. I go through a lot of periods of depression. However, most people would never know. I may be more moody to close friends and family, but other than that I will smile through the pain. I am working on reaching out to others during these time periods. With bipolar disorder,  depression can be very dark. Each time I experience it—I feel like I’ve been hit by a bus or like I’m dragging the heaviest chains behind me. Medication helps level this out for me.
