Description: This piece is the first self portrait I ever created. This painting was created in college, before this show was thought of. I was in physical pain in my neck. I manifest my mental health into physical pain. In high school, I had ulcers due to my lack of control of my anxiety. When my anxiety is under control, I no longer have ulcers. Same goes for neck pain, which I was experiencing during this time. Unable to move my neck, I put a mirror in front of my face and painted what I saw and felt: pain.
